Trust for Thanet Archaeology

We’re a charity that runs archaeology and history based events and activities in the Isle of Thanet in Kent, and sometimes further afield. The Trust is managed by a group of volunteer Trustees, with expertise in archaeology, education or a strong interest in archaeology.

We are based at the Antoinette Centre at Quex Park in Birchington, a space for teaching, learning and thinking about the past, where studying archaeology and history brings our shared human story to life. The Antoinette Centre has indoor and outdoor activity areas, a meeting room and a Roman garden with an outdoor bread oven for wild experiments in historic baking. There is a library at the centre, with books on archaeology and history and a local study collection on the archaeology of East Kent and Thanet.

We publish books on local archaeology and build and sell Pottery Learning packs for home study.

The Trust for Thanet Archaeology is funded only by receipts from our education activities, sales of local publications and from donations from the public. We welcome your support through donations, purchasing our books and learning resources and taking part in our events.
